As a technical communicator, data analyst, grant writer, web developer, and instructional designer, I inform others by creating visual displays of quantitative and qualitative data. I implement technology in order to improve quality of life by educating and empowering others. I instruct others on and through the use of technology to equip emerging generations. I integrate digital and analog resources drawn from diverse fields and theories. INFORMATIONGrant Writing
Carrie has expertise in securing and managing grants for agencies such as NIH, NIDDK, and the US Department of Education (ED). This technical communicator has over ten years of professional writing experience. She researched, coordinated, wrote, and procured funding for the competitive renewal grant worth 3.5 million dollars. She met with numerous school and university administrative personnel to promote collaborations and cost savings. She currently manages program communication and evaluation. Data Analysis Carrie analyzes data by creating variables and running frequencies, cross tabs, and other SPSS and SAS features. She produces client presentations that include charts, tables, and graphs. Methods include sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, and using macros. She employs SQL and VBA to coordinate class scheduling and data management. Instructional Design Carrie has co-taught a study skills/career exploration course. She created and implemented lessons on career e-portfolios, forming templates from which students generate their own site. She taught web design to high school students. She has designed instructional presentations, learning modules, and guides. She employs VBA macros, SQL, protections, formulas, and calculations to develop databases and spreadsheets of participant and shareholder data. She developed and maintained an intake and verification database to automate the application process, ensure completeness, validate eligibility, and enable impartial evaluation of student applicants. Carrie designs logos, flyers, program booklets, and numerous marketing materials. Program Evaluation Carrie documents and evaluates program policies, logic models, and participation assessments. She produces formative and summative reports, and correspondence for students, staff, governmental agencies, and the community, including verifying and submitting the annual performance report. Patent Management Carrie designed, created, and maintained patent and reference databases with thousands of records. She assisted with filing patent applications and correspondence. |

She coordinated multiple grant applications and monitored multi-million dollar grants from federal and private agencies. She manipulated and published numerical and textual data.
